Caroline Higgins

Health Education Specialist, Tribal MAT at California Rural Indian Health Board

Caroline Higgins has worked in a variety of roles since 1987. Her earliest role was as an English Second Language and Cross Age Tutor at Helix Charter High School. From 1994 to 1998, they worked as a Family Service Worker at the Neighborhood House Association. From 1998 to 2004, they held two roles at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego, first as Community Resource Coordinator at the Chadwick Center for Children & Families and then as Parent Support Specialist at the Center for Child Protection. From 2004 to 2006, they worked as an On Duty Counselor at The San Diego LGBT Community Center. From 2006 to 2012, they worked as a Protective Services Worker at the County of San Diego. From 2012 to 2015, they worked as a Social Services Supervisor at the County of El Dorado. Finally, since 2019, they have been a Health Education Specialist at the California Rural Indian Health Board.

Caroline Higgins obtained their Master of Social Work (MSW) from San Diego State University between 2009 and 2012. Caroline also obtained a BABS in Behavioral Sciences from National University between 1990 and 2001. Additionally, they obtained a Family Services Credential from Western Carolina University between 1995 and 1996. Caroline is also certified as a Domestic Violence Counselor.
