Lisa Barr has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Lisa began their career in 1990 at NBCUniversal, where they served as a Production Stage Manager and Entertainment Supervisor responsible for show scheduling, hiring staff, and budgeting for live shows. From 1995 to 1997, Lisa worked at SpectraFX, Inc. as a Project Manager, leading design and engineering teams in the development of theme park attractions. Lisa then moved to GameWorks as a Manager of Attraction Development from 1997 to 2001, overseeing the design and installation of new games and attractions. In 2001, Lisa briefly worked as a Construction Manager at WorldWide Projects. From 2008 onwards, Lisa joined the California Institute of the Arts, serving in various roles including Director of Operations, Administration, and Finance, Project Manager, Operations and Production Manager for the School of Dance, Producer, and Adjunct Faculty. Lisa'sresponsibilities at CalArts included overseeing operations, managing staff, budgeting, scheduling, and producing performances. Overall, Lisa has extensive experience in project management, operations, production, and administration.
Lisa Barr earned a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Theater, Stage Management from the California Institute of the Arts from 1989 to 1991. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Drama and Dramatics/Theatre Arts, General from Duke University between 1986 and 1989. Lisa also holds additional certifications from UPCEA (University Professional and Continuing Education Association) in "The Role of Educator: Expanding Academic Horizons" and "Leading with Diplomacy, Data, and Drive: the Unique Imperative of the Professional, Continuing, and Online Leader," both of which were obtained in 2023.
