Lizeth Perez is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in research and policy. Currently serving as a CCST Science and Technology Policy Fellow in the California State Senate Committee on Housing since November 2018, Lizeth is part of a prestigious fellowship program awarded by the California Council on Science and Technology. Concurrently, Lizeth has been a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Riverside since July 2013, focusing on the synthesis of synthetic receptors and the functionalization of proteins. Earlier research experience includes work as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at California State University-Long Beach from July 2010 to June 2013, where Lizeth applied microwave methods to organic synthesis. Lizeth holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of California, Riverside and a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from California State University, Long Beach. Educational background also includes a General Education degree from Long Beach City College and a high school diploma from Long Beach Polytechnic High School.
