Richard C. has extensive experience in government affairs, nonprofit board leadership, and legislative advocacy. As a Board Member of the California Conservation Corps Foundation since January 2019, Richard contributes to the mission of supporting corpsmembers and enhancing California's natural resources. Previously, Richard served as Managing Director of State Government Affairs at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP, where advisory roles encompassed diverse sectors. Richard held significant positions in several organizations, including Member of the Board of Trustees for the California State Historic Governor's Mansion Foundation, Chairman of the Board at The California Museum, and multiple influential roles at CalPERS, including Vice Chair of various committees. A background in governmental positions, including Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, further complements Richard’s leadership experience. Academic achievements include a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from the University of Georgia and a Doctor of Law from Samford University.
