Mauricio Torres Jr. is an experienced communications professional currently serving as the Director of Communications at the California Budget & Policy Center since July 2019, where responsibilities include centering the organization's values and perspectives in public discourse. Previously, Mauricio held the position of Communications Strategist at the same organization, leading digital strategy and communication plans. Additional experience includes serving as a Campaign Coordinator at Paschal Roth Public Affairs, where media relations and content creation were central, as well as a Communications Intern for the California State Assembly, focusing on media management. Earlier in the career, Mauricio was a Public Policy Intern at The Trust for Public Land, advocating for urban greening initiatives. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Strategic Communication and Public Relations from Sacred Heart University and Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Communication Studies from California State University-Sacramento.
