Maria Cristina Martinez-Habibe is an accomplished academic and researcher with extensive experience in biodiversity research, specializing in areas ranging from alpha taxonomy to molecular phylogenetics. Currently serving as an Associate Professor and Sciences Dean at Universidad del Norte since June 2013, Maria Cristina has held several leadership and teaching positions in various institutions, including Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden as a Research Associate and Universidad Nacional de Colombia as a Professor. With a solid educational foundation, including a Ph.D. candidate status from Claremont Graduate University and a Master's degree in Plant Sciences from Lehman College, Maria Cristina has imparted knowledge in botany, plant taxonomy, and biogeography across multiple universities and colleges.
