Sana Chintamen began their work experience in 2013 as a Research Assistant at the Bentley Laboratory. Sana then moved on to the Kriegsfeld Lab, where they conducted research on neuroanatomical differences as a function of habitat complexity in diverging populations of lizards. In the same year, they began working as a Field Research Assistant at the Rosenblum Lab, studying neural mechanisms underlying mate choice in the Lesser Earless Lizard. In 2014, Chintamen worked as a Staff Research Associate at the Weiner Lab, studying candidate genes effects on membrane tension and cell polarity and migration in neutrophils. Additionally, they worked as a Program Assistant at Biotech Partners, providing a biotech education and vocational training program for high school students from populations underrepresented in science in Oakland and Berkeley. From 2016 to 2021, Chintamen was a Graduate Research Assistant at Columbia University in the City of New York, studying the relationship between microglia-mediated inflammation and neurogenesis under physiological and post-Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) conditions. Sana is currently a Scientist at Cajal Neuroscience.
Sana Chintamen has a Doctor of Philosophy in Neurobiology and Behavior from Columbia University (2016-2021) and a Bachelor of Arts in Molecular and Cell Biology- emphasis in Neurobiology from University of California, Berkeley (2012-2014).
