Lois Duran has over three decades of experience in healthcare management, with a strong focus on Medicare operations. As the Medicare Medical Review Manager at Cahaba GBA from December 2000 until retirement, Lois had extensive oversight of medical review operations. Prior roles include Manager of Part A Medical Review at the Alabama Quality Assurance Foundation, where utilization review for inpatient DRG claims was conducted. Lois also served as the Nurse Manager for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama, overseeing staffing and budgets. Lois holds a Master of Public Health degree in Healthcare Organization and Policy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Registered Nurse degree from St. Vincent's School of Nursing.
