Samya Paiva currently serves as Gerente Corporativa de Riesgos at CAF - Banco de desarrollo de América Latina since April 2023. Previously, Samya held the position of Risk Management Director at Zurich Brasil Seguros, overseeing the LATAM Risk Management area for General Insurance and Global Life businesses from September 2015 to March 2023. Other notable roles include Head of Risk Control at Banco PAN, Head of Operational Risk at Itau-Unibanco, and various leadership positions at Banco Santander focusing on Economic and Regulatory Capital and Credit Risk. Samya's early career included roles as an Operational Risk Manager at ABN AMRO Banco Real and Market Risk Financial Engineer at Sudameris. Samya holds a PhD in Physics from USP - Universidade de São Paulo and a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Universidade Federal da Paraíba, along with an Advanced Boardroom Program qualification from Saint Paul Escola de Negócios.
