John Lugton has worked in the technology industry since 2011. John began their career at Softwire as a Software Developer Intern in 2011. John then returned to Softwire in 2012 as a Software Developer. In the same year, they began working at Semmle as a Field Engineer, eventually becoming Head of Field Engineering. In 2019, they moved to GitHub as a Lead Security Solutions Architect. Most recently, they have been working at Cado Security since 2021, where they are currently the Director of Engineering and a Senior Software Engineer.

John Lugton attended the University of Oxford from 2008 to 2012, where they earned a Master's degree in Computer Science.
