Lauren Cape has worked in a variety of professional roles since 2001. Lauren began their career as a Coordinator of Youth and Community Prevention Education at AIDS Response Seacoast, where they launched a peer education outreach program in 2004. In 2007, they took on the role of Assistant Director at CHAMPIONS Adventure, After School and Sports Programs, where they coordinated lesson plans, managed staff, and resolved student issues. From 2010 to 2011, they worked as a Special Education Teacher at Neighborhood House Charter School, and from 2011 to 2013, they were a Detention Officer at Anne Arundel County. From 2013 to 2015, they were an Entrepreneur/Caretaker at Bits & Bones LLC and a Processor at Cornerstone Title, LLC. In 2019, they became the Programs Director at the National Havurah Committee, where they planned and managed logistics for an annual week-long retreat for 300+ international attendees. In 2020, they moved the retreat to an online platform and moderated up to 12 sessions a day on Zoom. Currently, they are a Customer Success Manager at Event Cadence.
Lauren Cape has an extensive educational background. Lauren completed a Bachelor's Degree in Health and Human Services Studies with concentrations in adolescent development and psychology from the University of New Hampshire between 1997 and 2001. After that, they earned a Master's Degree in Gender, Sexuality and Culture from The University of Manchester in 2006. Prior to that, they attended Notre Dame Academy, graduating in 1997 with a High School General Studies degree. Additionally, Lauren Cape has obtained several certifications, such as a Launch Event Assistant and Wedding Assistant from Happily in 2020, Learning Mailchimp and WordPress 5 Essential Training from LinkedIn in 2019, and a Notary Public from the State of Maine in 2017.
