Andrew Romero has a diverse work experience in various leadership roles. At CADCA, they served as the Director of Public Health Programs & Geographic Health Equity Alliance, where they provided technical assistance and training to public health programs and supported the development of coalitions for equitable public health policy change. In their role as the Director of Health Policy at the Florida Department of Health in Alachua County, they led and supervised a department in developing and implementing policy programs focused on various health issues. Andrew also secured grant funding and supported grassroots coalitions in advocating for health policy changes. Additionally, as the President of Alachua County Emerging Leaders, they transformed the organization into a political force and mentored young leaders in strategic planning, advocacy, and public policy. Lastly, they served as a Program Assistant at the University Center for Excellence in Teaching, where they handled digital and print communications and coordinated professional development activities for faculty and staff.

Andrew Romero has a strong educational background in the field of education and political science. Andrew obtained a Master of Education degree with a focus in Social Foundations of Education from the University of Florida in 2006. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the same university in 2003. In 2001, they completed their Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Political Science at Santa Fe College. Additionally, Andrew has a certification as a Certified Worksite Wellness Program Manager from the National Wellness Institute, although the specific month and year of obtaining this certification are unknown.
