Ayden Schattman

Analytical Chemistry Research Associate at c16 Biosciences

Ayden Schattman began their career as a Research Assistant at Columbia University in the City of New York in 2018, where they synthesized chiral conjugated molecular corrals to be used in electrical devices and isolated and characterized stereoisomers of the corrals using various techniques such as HPLC, NMR, and column chromatography. In 2017, they began working as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at Skidmore College, where they improved the synthesis of a tandem intramolecular Diel's Alder (TIMDA) compound by employing new methodologies and reagents and attempted an allyl cation cycloaddition of a novel compound which would have yielded new methodologies for such compounds. Ayden also prepared lab space weekly with appropriate reagents, materials, glassware and instruments, and maintained inventory of chemicals and ensured proper disposal of hazardous waste. In 2019, Ayden Schattman began working as a Laboratory Assistant at MPI-CBG - Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics, where they synthesized a lipid precursor in large amounts allowing predoc students to move forward in their research. In 2021, they began working as a Research Technician at NYU Langone Health, and in 2022 they began working as an Analytical Chemistry Research Associate at C16 Biosciences.

Ayden Schattman graduated from Skidmore College in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry.
