Aya Sayedelahl

Research Scientist at C-CORE

Aya Sayedelahl is a Research Scientist at C-CORE since August 2021, focusing on AI-based collision avoidance systems for automotive radar applications. Prior to this role, Aya worked as a Research and Development Consultant at Broadband Microwaves Inc. from 2016 to August 2021. Aya's academic experience includes a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Waterloo from 2010 to 2013, where involvement in developing artificial intelligence systems and an audio-based emotion recognition system took place. Additionally, a significant Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at Howard University from 2001 to 2008 focused on human subject detection in infrared images and involved publishing technical reports. Aya also contributed as a Graduate Research Assistant at Howard University, working on both AI-based detection systems and the fabrication of GaN Nano/Microstructures. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. and a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Howard University, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering from Mansoura University.
