Scott Brave has a long and varied work experience. In 2012, they were an Advisor for Level Financial and HealthCrowd, and they founded m.sound creations. In 2013, they were the CTO in Residence for Musely by Trusper Inc. In 2014, they were the CTO of FullContact Inc., and in 2020 they were a Scientific Advisor for Meaningly and the Owner of Scott Brave Consulting, LLC. Most recently, in 2021, they were the CTO and Co-founder of Bytez, and they are currently a Founding Member of MRV Collective.

Scott Brave obtained their B.S. in Computer Systems Engineering from Stanford University from 1991 to 1995. Scott then went on to receive their M.S. in Media Arts and Sciences (Media Lab) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1996 to 1998. Finally, they completed their Ph.D. in Human-Computer Interaction (Communication) at Stanford University from 1999 to 2003.
