Medua Okonta began their work experience as a Junior Graphic Designer at Grey Type Media in 2010. In 2011, they worked as a Freelance Digital Designer for Amp and Various clients. In 2014, they joined Kish and Chips Ltd as a Designer. From 2015 to 2018, they worked at SMACK as a Digital Designer and later as the Lead UX/UI Designer. Since 2018, Medua has been working at Beyond, starting as a UX Designer and currently holding the position of Senior UX Designer.

Medua Okonta began their education in 2002 at City & Islington College Shepperton Arts Centre, where they obtained a BTEC Diploma in Foundation Studies in Art & Design. Medua then attended the University of East London from 2003 to 2006, earning a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Graphic Design.

In addition to their formal education, Medua Okonta has also obtained several certifications. In 2016, they completed courses in Data-Driven UX Design, Key UX Principles of Ecommerce Sites, and Rapid Prototyping & Testing from General Assembly. Medua further pursued User Research Methods in 2017 and Consumer Journey Mapping in 2018, both also from General Assembly. In 2019, they received User Research Training from Webcredible, part of Inviqa. Medua'smost recent certification, Foundation HTML, CSS + Javascript, was obtained from SuperHi in May 2020.
