Jacob Achee has diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Jacob started their career in 2000 as a PC Technician at Atlantic Marine, where they supported desktop users and played a key role in upgrading the LAN infrastructure. From 2004 to 2007, they worked in network operations at Internet Doorway, Inc. In their role at New Horizons Computer Learning Center from 2007 to 2010, they worked as a technical instructor.
In 2009, Jacob founded Atless.org, an experimental website for filtering replies on Twitter RSS feeds. Jacob worked on the project as the owner, founder, and webmaster until 2012.
In 2010, Jacob joined the University of Alaska Southeast as a network engineer. Jacob supported and developed the multi-site wired LAN, including the redesign and implementation of the campus-wide Wi-Fi network.
From 2014 to 2017, Jacob worked at C Spire as a Technical System Administrator II. Jacob played an integral role in refining systems and procedures and managed a large *nix environment. Jacob also acted as a bridge between the Network and Systems teams.

From 2019 to the present, Jacob has worked at Carnegie Learning and ButcherBox as a Site Reliability Engineer. Jacob worked on a wide range of DevOps and cloud-related technologies, including AWS, OpsWorks, Lambda, containerization with ECS, and version control with Git.
