Michelle Hunniford is a seasoned professional in animal care and education, currently serving as the National Animal Care Specialist at Burnbrae Farms since October 2017, where responsibilities include implementing and overseeing a national internal Animal Care Program that enhances animal welfare and employee engagement. Before this role, Michelle worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Guelph from September 2011 to August 2017, advising students on experimental design and contributing to the publication of 11 manuscripts. Additional experience includes various teaching and writing consulting positions at the University of Guelph and Queen's University, where Michelle facilitated seminars, wrote instructional content, and guided students in writing skills. Michelle holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Animal Behaviour and Welfare from the University of Guelph and a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Biology and English Literature from Queen's University.
