Matt Reid, M.M., currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Wake Forest University, teaching undergraduate courses in jazz piano, improvisation, jazz theory, and performance. Alongside this role, Matt Reid is also a Jazz Piano Faculty member at The Music Academy of North Carolina and an Adjunct Professor at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, contributing to the education of students in jazz and music disciplines. Additional responsibilities include serving as the Assistant Director of the Greensboro Big Band, leading community musicians in swing-style performances, and teaching piano at Guilford College. As a professional musician since 2013, Matt Reid has a background in music education and performance, complemented by managerial experience at Burkely Communities. Before transitioning to the music field, Matt Reid served in law enforcement, holding various positions including Sergeant at Fletcher Police Department and Police Officer at Asheville Regional Airport Authority. Matt Reid holds a Master of Music degree in Jazz Studies from North Carolina Central University and a Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Piano Performance from Guilford College.
