Abubakar Ansari has a range of work experience in the field of fisheries and seafood auditing. Abubakar started their career as a Project Assistant at the National Institute of Oceanography in 2005 and worked there until 2007. Abubakar then became a Senior Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources from 2010 to 2015. In 2016, they joined SCS Global Services as a Manager and Lead Auditor in the Fisheries and Environment field, where they worked until 2018. After that, they moved on to the Bureau Veritas Group, where they held the roles of Lead Auditor and then Senior Lead Auditor & Scheme Manager-Seafood starting from October 2018.

Abubakar Ansari holds a Master of Science degree in Water, Wetlands, and Marine Resources Management from Universidad de Cádiz, which was completed from 2008 to 2009. Prior to that, from 2007 to 2008, they obtained another Master of Science degree in the same field from the University of Plymouth. Mr. Ansari also holds a Master's degree in Zoology/Animal Biology and Fisheries from V.B.S Purvanchal University, which they pursued from 2001 to 2003. Finally, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Biology, General from Deendayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University, which they completed from 1997 to 2000.
