Tommaso Peresson is a skilled data engineer and platform engineer with a solid foundation in computer science, holding both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree from Politecnico di Milano. Currently serving as a Platform Engineer - Data at Bumble since April 2022, Tommaso has upgraded the backend engine for an in-house data discovery tool using Apache Pinot, involving system design and Kubernetes cluster management. Previously, at HousingAnywhere from August 2020 to March 2022, Tommaso developed scalable ETL and ELT pipelines, contributed to a RealTime Contribution Margin dashboard, and led the restructuring of the data warehouse, including implementing a permission model and an anonymization layer using Snowflake and DBT. Tommaso has also gained experience as a Data Engineer Intern, where a proof of concept for a double-sided recommender system was developed.
