Matthew Urban has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. In 2015, they worked as a Small Business Advisor at Forward Financing, where they assisted small to medium-sized businesses in accessing short-term working capital. From 2016 to 2018, they served as a Senior Sales Consultant at WordStream, specializing in pay-per-click optimization software and conducting software demos to potential clients. Later, in 2018, Matthew joined USA TODAY NETWORK | LOCALiQ as a Digital Marketing Consultant, helping local businesses with online marketing solutions. Matthew then pursued further education at General Assembly, where they worked as a Research Fellow, gaining valuable skills in user experience (UX) design through project-based learning. Currently, Matthew is working at Buildium as an Associate UX Designer, leveraging their expertise to enhance user experiences. In addition to their professional experiences, Matthew also founded Matt Urban Marketing in 2020.

Matthew Urban's education history begins with earning a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Business Administration and Management, General from Framingham State University in 2009. Matthew then pursued further education and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services from the Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst in the years 2009 to 2013.

In 2021, Matthew attended General Assembly's User Experience Design Immersive Boot Camp, where they focused on User Experience Design. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in Digital Media Sales from Google (obtained in August 2019) and Bing Certification from Microsoft (obtained in July 2016).
