Marco De Bortoli's work experience begins with DEA Development Engineering Automation, where they started as a Senior Software Developer in 2000 and eventually became a technical team lead. Marco then joined Quanthink as a Senior Software Developer, working on migrating legacy frameworks to Zend Framework. From 2009 to 2010, Marco returned to DEA Development Engineering Automation, working on projects for major retail clients and upgrading existing systems. In 2010, they joined Inviqa (formerly Ibuildings UK) as a Senior Software Engineer, where they implemented best practices and principles for PHP software development. Marco then worked at JUST EAT as a Senior Software Engineer and later as a Technology Manager, where they contributed to defining future technology directions and introduced deployment automation. Marco also served as a Principal Engineer at Skyscanner, focusing on architecture and engineering standards. Marco then joined Schroders as an Engineering Lead, supporting the company's technological transformation. Marco's most recent roles include Head of Engineering at HeidiPay and Technology Director at Build Circle.

Marco De Bortoli obtained their Diploma di Maturità (Italian equivalent for 'Advanced Diploma - Level 3 / 3.5A') in Electrical Engineering, specializing in automation and process control, from I.T.I.S. Luigi Galvani Milan Italy in 1999. In 2010, they pursued additional education at Atrak Learning Centre, obtaining certifications in Zend Server, Advanced Professional PHP Development, and Zend Framework. Marco also received on-site training in Zend Platform and Zend Framework from Zend Technologies Ltd. in 2008. Marco further enhanced their skills with certifications from SUN Microsystems Learning Centre in SUN Java SL-275 in 2005 and from Microsoft Learning Centre in Microsoft Visual InterDev 6.0 and ASP 3.0 in 2001, as well as Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 in 2000.
