Ryan Johnson has a diverse work experience that spans several industries. Ryan co-founded Bugle in 2021, and prior to that, they served as a Company Executive Officer and Detachment Commander in the 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) of the US Army from 2019 to 2021. From 2016 to 2019, Ryan attended the Special Forces Qualification Course at the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School. Before that, from 2013 to 2016, they worked in the 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team as an Operations Officer and Rifle Platoon Leader, where they managed training and operations and supported NATO security challenges in Eastern Europe.

Ryan Johnson attended the United States Military Academy at West Point from 2008 to 2012, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in International Law and Systems Engineering.
