Kapilan Balasubramaniam started their work experience in 2021 as an Intern Information Security Analyst at Sri Lanka CERT|CC, where they worked until March 2022. Kapilan then joined Bugcrowd in December 2020 as a Security Researcher. Currently, they work at KPMG Sri Lanka as a Trainee Analyst - Cyber Security, starting in July 2022.

Kapilan Balasubramaniam attended the University of Kelaniya Sri Lanka from 2018 to 2022, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (Honors) degree in Computer Science with a focus on Cyber Security. In addition to their formal education, Kapilan also obtained various certifications to enhance their knowledge and skills in the field. Kapilan received the Multi-Cloud Network Associate certification from Aviatrix in April 2022. Prior to that, in September 2021, they completed a course on Assembly Language Programming in 8051 through Udemy. In June 2021, they obtained the Introduction to Cybersecurity certification from Cisco. Kapilan also holds the ICSI | Cybersecurity Essentials certification from the International CyberSecurity Institute, UK, which they obtained in December 2020. Further, they completed a course on Learning Python through LinkedIn in November 2020, and in October 2020, they gained the Ethical Hacking Fundamentals certification from Prompt InfoTech Coimbatore.
