Dr. István Csernavölgyi is the CEO of Buda Health Center Ltd., internal medicine, chief cardiologist. He received his medical degree in 1991 from Semmelweis University. He went on to become a cardiologist in 1996 and then in 1999, and holds a license in hypertonology and echocardiography. In 2012, he graduated from Szent István University in Budapest with a degree in “Healthcare Management and Strategic Specialist”.

During his university years, he worked as an ambulance officer, and after obtaining his medical degree, he worked as an internal medicine doctor at the Szent György University Teaching Hospital in Fejér County. From 2000 he worked as the head of the department at the Mór City Hospital, and later as the medical director. From 2010 to 2020, he was the director general of the Szent György University Teaching Hospital in Fejér County.

Under his leadership, he and his staff reorganized the county care system, made patient pathways operational, created equal opportunities in county care, and implemented a new model for small hospital care. He believes that the economic stability of the health care system is only a tool, it makes sense if it is realized in a healing power.

Under its directorate, the institution became the teaching and practicing hospital of the Semmelweis Medical University and the Medical University of Pécs. From 2018, St. George's Hospital will be one of the first in Central and Eastern Europe to operate as an international translation center.

These abilities were realized in the work of the healer, the hospital got to the essence of the care system: it wanted and was able to heal, all at the highest level of progressivity.

In addition to his duties as Director General, he served as President of the Fejér County Health Forum between 2014 and 2020. From 2020, he is the Chairman of the Board of OTP Health Fund.

From 2022, he is the president of the inpatient section of the Health Section of the National Association of Entrepreneurs.

His personal and professional creed is that the patient’s best is the supreme guiding principle, and he performs his leadership and healing activities accordingly.
