Matt Horton, CRIS has a diverse work experience in the insurance industry. Matt is currently serving as the Vice President - Distribution at BTIS since July 2021. Prior to this, they worked at SIS Insure as the Executive Vice President - Workers' Compensation and Distribution from September 2019 to July 2021.
Matt also has a strong background in marketing and sales. Matt held the position of AVP, Marketing at BTIS from August 2016 to August 2019. Earlier, they served as the Director of Broker Relations at Pacific Compensation Insurance Company from April 2015 to May 2016.
Their previous roles include working as the Western Regional Vice President, Marketing at Atlas General Insurance Services from April 2014 to April 2015, and as the President of Avalon Pacific Insurance from May 2012 to April 2015.
Before that, Matt gained experience as a Marketing Representative/Territory Manager at Midwest Insurance Company from May 2008 to April 2012. Matt started their career in the insurance industry as a Sales Executive at EMPLOYERS in 2007 and later served as the Northern California Sales Manager at Firstcomp Insurance from 2006 to 2007.
Additionally, Matt has been involved in community service through their role on the Community Service Committee at the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of Sacramento (IBA) from January 2019 to January 2020.
Matt Horton, CRIS, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies with an emphasis in Organizational Communication from California State University-Sacramento. Matt attended the university from 1996 to 2001. Prior to their university education, Matt completed their high school education at Shasta High School. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist certification from the International Risk Management Institute, Inc. in August 2020. Matt is also certified as an Insurance Broker for Property & Casualty by the California Department of Insurance.
