Richard Heyns began their work experience in 2011 as a Senior Technical Architect at dunnhumby. Richard then went on to found brytlyt in 2013, where they currently hold the position of Founder and CEO. Brytlyt is a groundbreaking platform that combines browser-led technology with GPU in-database AI and deep learning capabilities to provide data scientists and decision makers with accessible deep learning methods and data analytics at GPU speeds.

Richard Heyns attended Potchefstroom Boys High School from 1987 to 1991. Richard completed their matric there. After completing high school, they went on to study at the University of Cape Town from 1992 to 1996. Richard obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
