Matthew joined BrownGreer in 2010 and is currently in charge of overseeing the attorney representation team for a class action settlement. Prior to joining BrownGreer, Matt served as a law clerk for Cannella & O’Neal, during which time, Matt drafted answers to interrogatories, demand letters and medical summaries, conducted research, prepared memoranda for malpractice, personal injury and premises liability claims, interviewed prospective clients and provided client intake. As a NFL Division Intern, Matt reviewed contracts to identify earning trends for the foundation of client contract negotiations, conducted research for client marketing opportunities and generated prospective letters for potential clients for Q2 Sports and Entertainment.
Outside the firm, Matt reaches out to the community through a variety of organizations. He served as a volunteer for the Center for Women and Families of Eastern Fairfield County Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Crisis Response Organization, the Youth Cancer Society and Clemson University’s President’s Race for the Library. Serving as a camp counselor, community relations intern and private tennis instructor are a few ways Matt stays in touch with his community. Matt is also a member of the Virginia Bar.
Impacting the community continues for Matt as he works with BrownGreer to review claims arising from the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico on April 20, 2010.
Since joining the firm in 2010, Matt has designed and implemented attorney representation procedures for a multifaceted claims evaluation program and helped open a second office location in New Orleans, Louisiana. In his current role, Matt oversees, organizes and trains a team in charge of all communication with claimant representatives for a class action settlement and assists with the signature review procedures. Matt also assists with a variety of legal issues relating to the claims administration of another complex class action settlement.
