Joseph Lauro MD, FACEP is the President of the Rhode Island Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians since May 2023. With extensive experience as an Emergency Physician at Brown Emergency Medicine since July 2009, Joseph serves as the EMS Medical Director at Cumberland EMS and has held academic roles as a Clinical Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at Brown University since July 2009. Joseph's previous contributions include serving as an ACEP Representative on the Ambulance Advisory Board for the Rhode Island Department of Health and holding Medical Director positions for paramedic programs at the National EMS Institute and Roger Williams University. Joseph completed an Emergency Medicine Residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University and holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from St Georges Medical University. Additional qualifications include a Paramedic certification from St. Vincent's Institute of Emergency Care and a Bachelor of Science in Medicine from SUNY Oneonta.
