Tharanga A. has a diverse work experience starting in 2013 at MAS Holdings, where they worked as a Team Member in the Finished Good Warehouse. From 2018 to 2019, Tharanga A. worked as a Human Resources Partner at John Keells Holdings PLC. They then moved on to OREL IT, where they held the roles of Junior Executive-Human Resources from 2019 to 2021 and Senior Assistant-Human Resources from 2019 to 2020. Following that, Tharanga A. worked at HNB FINANCE as an Executive- Human Resources from 2021 to 2022. They are currently employed at Brown & Company PLC, where they started in 2022 as an Executive in Human Resources and later transitioned to the role of Senior Executive - Human Resources. In their current position, Tharanga A. is responsible for the overall HR partnering functions of the Agriculture and Heavy Machinery Equipment Cluster.

Tharanga A. completed an Advanced Diploma in Business Management at the National Institute of Business Management (NIBM - Sri Lanka) from 2016 to 2017. The field of study was Business Administration, Management, and Operations.

Additionally, Tharanga A. obtained an Advanced Certificate in Human Resources Management from the National Institute of Business Management (NIBM - Sri Lanka) from 2014 to 2015, focusing on Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration, General.
