EVP, External Affairs at Brooklyn Public Library

David Woloch joined Brooklyn Public Library as Executive Vice President of External Affairs in 2012 after a distinguished career in city government. David oversees the Library’s government and community relations, development, and marketing and communications departments. He and his team have succeeded in increasing public awareness of the library and growing the institution’s operating and capital budgets through increased public and private investment. David has also helped lead BPL’s efforts to form innovative partnerships and strategies to develop new libraries throughout the borough.

David served in a variety of positions in city government, most recently as deputy commissioner for external affairs with the Department of Transportation. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and a Master of Public Policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
