Jen Baker is an accomplished trombonist, composer, and improviser based in New York City, with a career as a freelancer since July 2009. Renowned for redefining the role of the performer in creative music, Jen has premiered and commissioned numerous new works for both chamber groups and solo trombone, following degrees earned at Oberlin Conservatory and Mills College. In addition to freelance work, Jen serves as a brass instructor at the Brooklyn-Queens Conservatory of Music and has held teaching artist roles with the Brooklyn Arts Council since 2012. Previous instructional experience includes brass teaching at the Oakland School for the Arts and Hillsdale College.
