Rudy Murillo is the current Director of Operations at BronxWorks. Prior to this, they served as Deputy Director at the New York City Emergency Management Department from February 2017 to October 2018. In this role, they were responsible for managing the Watch Command schedule to ensure staffing for the 24/7 operations center, processing timesheets and managing overtime, providing strategic and operational guidance and support to daily unit operations, facilitating and/or conducting employee training, directing and managing special projects, developing, implementing, and distributing new/revised Standard operating Procedures and Technical Reference Documents, providing guidance and managerial oversight in support of the notify NYC emergency public messaging program, supporting the operation and administrative needs of the Watch Command Director and Deputy Commissioner of operations, serving as the Acting Director of Watch Command in absence of the Director, offsetting work hours to ensure managerial coverage/oversight during major emergencies and providing emergency coverage as a Watch Command Supervisor when needed, and collaborating with other OEM Divisions/units as needed to accomplish agency mission.
Rudy Murillo received their Master of Professional Studies in Homeland Security and Criminal Justice Leadership from St. John's University. Rudy also holds a Bachelor's of Science in Homeland & Corporate Security from St. John's University. Rudy is certified by the International Sports Sciences Association in Fitness.
Rudy Murillo reports to Eileen Torres, Executive Director. They work with John Weed - Assistant Executive Director, Community Programs, Robert Rivera - Director of Security, and Felicia Rickett - Samuels - VP, Human Resources.
