Dave Favis-Mortlock is a Visiting Research Associate at the British Geological Survey since August 2020, following a decade as a Senior Visiting Research Associate at the University of Oxford, where involvement included the Environmental Change Institute. Prior experience includes serving as a Lecturer at Queen's University Belfast from 2000 to 2010 and a Research Scientist at the University of Oxford from 1993 to 2000. Dave Favis-Mortlock holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Modelling Soil Erosion by Water from the University of Brighton, earned between 1987 and 1994, and a BA(Hons) in Environmental Sciences from Lancaster University, completed from 1972 to 1975. Early education includes attendance at Barstable School and Southend Tech.
