Gemma Collis PLY is an accomplished GB Wheelchair Fencer with extensive experience in sports journalism and advocacy. Since November 2011, Gemma has represented British Fencing while also contributing to the Women's Sport Trust's Unlocked Programme starting in April 2022. In addition to these roles, Gemma has been active with the International Wheelchair & Amputee Sports Federation (IWAS) as a member of the Gender Equity Commission and Vice-Chair of the International Athlete Council for Wheelchair Fencing since October 2018. Gemma's journalism career spans various positions at the BBC since June 2014, including Assistant Producer for multiple sports-related programs. Prior experience includes working as an Athletics Journalist for Vinco and serving as an Athlete Mentor at the Youth Sport Trust. Gemma holds a Law Certificate from Durham University and has a strong academic background with A-levels from Aylesbury High School.
