Summer Hanna serves as the Head (VP) of Scientific Regulation within Corporate & Regulatory Affairs at BAT, a position held since April 2019. In this role, Summer Hanna drives scientific engagement and advocates for Tobacco Harm Reduction within regulatory frameworks, significantly enhancing the company's presence in the European market through strategic initiatives. Prior to this, Summer Hanna held multiple leadership roles at RAI Services Company, overseeing regulatory submissions and developing innovative product pipelines for traditional tobacco products. Early career experience includes roles in regulatory oversight at Reynolds American, where Summer Hanna contributed to compliance and scientific strategy. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Wake Forest University and a B.S. in Chemistry from Winthrop University.
