Michael Hobbs

Vice President, Chemical Process Development at Bristol-Myers Squibb

Michael Hobbs is a seasoned professional in the field of chemical engineering with extensive experience in drug substance development and pharmaceutical commercialization. Currently serving as Vice President of Chemical Process Development at Bristol Myers Squibb since November 2019, Michael previously held the position of Executive Director of Drug Substance Development at Celgene, where responsibilities included leading the development of synthesis routes and manufacturing processes for small molecule drug candidates. Prior to Celgene, Michael worked at Merck for nearly 15 years, holding various leadership roles including Director of Pharmaceutical Commercialization Technology, overseeing critical phases of pharmaceutical process development from planning to commercial launch. Michael earned a PhD and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Rutgers University.
