Ron Banks has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Ron most recently served as the Deputy Chief Information Security Officer (DCISO) & Senior Director of Global Information Security at Brink's Inc, where they provided leadership for the Global Information Security (GIS) team. Prior to that, Ron held multiple roles at FTS International, including Information Security Architect and Cybersecurity Team Lead. Ron also worked as a Senior IT Security Analyst at Michaels Stores, Inc. and as an IT Application Security Review Consultant at Verizon Business. Ron's earlier experience includes positions at ClubCorp, Travelocity, WorldCom, the Texas Department of Transportation, and Applied Research Laboratories at The University of Texas at Austin.

Ron Banks has a diverse education history. Ron obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Library Science from the University of North Texas between 1989 and 1992. Following that, they pursued Graduate Musicology coursework at Southern Methodist University from 1993 to 1996. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Music History and Literature from Loyola University New Orleans from 1987 to 1989. Additionally, they completed an Associate of Arts and Sciences (A.A.S.) degree in Music History and Literature from Dallas College Mountain View Campus from 1985 to 1987, and another A.A.S. degree in Business Administration from the same institution between 1981 and 1985. In terms of certifications, Ron has various qualifications such as GIAC Security Leadership (GSLC) from GIAC Certifications in 2021, CyberArk Certified Trustee from CyberArk in 2020, SFCP (Sourcefire Certified Professional 4.10.1) from Sourcefire, Inc. in 2012, and CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) from the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, Inc. (ISC2)^2 in 2006.
