Portia Nunley has a diverse education history. Portia began their education at Lake High School, where they obtained a diploma in college prep in 1983. Following high school, they attended Clarke College from 1983 to 1985, where they pursued pre-nursing studies.
In 1985, Portia enrolled at The University of Southern Mississippi College of Nursing and completed their Bachelor's Degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse in 1988. Portia also earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing from USM during the same period.
After several years in the nursing field, Portia pursued further education in the field of nutrition and wellness. In 2016, they attended the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where they studied Foods, Nutrition, and Wellness Studies, General.
Portia returned to nursing and engaged in advanced studies at Regis College from 2018 to 2020. Portia completed a Master's of Science in Nursing, specializing in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse/Nursing. Portia also obtained another Master's of Science in Nursing from Regis College during the same period. Additionally, Portia pursued a Masters of Nursing degree at Regis College, although the start and end years are not provided.
Throughout their career, Portia obtained additional certifications. Portia received ACLS certification from the American Heart Association's Lifelong Learning Center in August 2016. Additionally, they obtained a TB certification from the Mississippi Department of Health in December 2016.
