Nikki Mason has been working in the software engineering field since 1990. Nikki began their career as an Undergraduate Apprentice at British Aerospace, where they designed and developed electronic test equipment for land-to-air weapons. Nikki then moved to BAe Sema in 1995, where they designed and developed electronic test equipment and a software application to be used in sonar trials. In 1996, they became a Software Development Team Leader at Marconi, managing a team of up to 10 people developing aspects of the Marconi/GPT Element Management products. From 2005 to 2011, Nikki worked as a Software Engineer at Perceptive Informatics, developing and enhancing Clinical Trials Management System solutions as both web based and integrated adapter services. Nikki then moved to CALYX in 2016, where they served as a Software Engineering Manager, responsible for the development and welfare of several software engineers. Nikki is currently a Senior Software Engineer at Brightpearl, where they began working in 2022.

Nikki Mason obtained a Masters 2:1 in Electronic & Electrical Engineering with Management from the University of Birmingham in 1995. In 2021, they earned a Certified SAFe® 5 Scrum Master certification from Scaled Agile, Inc.
