Harry W.M. Steinbusch is a distinguished academic with extensive experience in neuroscience. Since April 1994, Steinbusch has served as a Professor in Cellular and Translational Neuroscience at Maastricht University. In addition, Steinbusch has contributed to the BrightFocus Foundation as part of the Alzheimer Fast Track initiative since September 2000. As a founding Editor-in-Chief at Elsevier from February 1986 to April 2024, Steinbusch played a significant role in scientific publishing. Further academic leadership includes serving as Director at the School for Mental Health and Neuroscience from September 2005 to August 2018 and as Founding Director of the European Graduate School of Neuroscience from January 1997 to January 2018. Prior academic experience includes an Associate Professorship at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam from April 1982 to February 1994. Educational credentials include a Master of Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine from Radboud University, obtained between 1968 and 1976.
