Melanie Button has a diverse work experience in the non-profit sector. Melanie started their career as a Teaching Artist at the Children's Museum of The Arts in 2006 and worked there until 2012. In 2012, they volunteered as a Farm Worker at HelpX for a year. From 2013 to 2014, they served as a Cooking Matters AmeriCorps member at Share Our Strength | No Kid Hungry. Melanie then joined City Harvest as a Nutrition Education Manager from 2014 to 2017. Melanie's most recent position is Regional Program Director at Brighter Bites, where they have been since 2017. Melanie started as the NYC Program Director and successfully launched the program outside of Texas. Melanie then moved up to their current role, leading Brighter Bites strategies across the Northeast and managing relationships with program partners.
Melanie Button obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Educational Theater from New York University, where they attended from 2004 to 2008. Later, they pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree with a focus on Community Health Education at the CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy from 2016 to 2019.
