Storm Johnson has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. They began their career as a Supermarket Assistant at Waitrose & Partners in 2015, where they focused on customer service, operations, and replenishment.
In 2017, Storm worked as a Student Ambassador at the University of Surrey, where they promoted higher education to students by planning and organizing presentations and communicating scientific topics to various student groups.
They then joined Hygiena in 2018 as a University Research Scientist during their placement year. In this role, Storm took the lead on a bacterial detection device project, becoming proficient in culturing organisms, using microplate readers, and conducting experiments.
Simultaneously, Storm worked as a Medical Laboratory Assistant at the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust, starting in 2018. They handled biological samples, performed data entry, and communicated patient results to doctors and consultants.
Starting in 2020, Storm joined Future Science Group, initially as a Production Editor. They proofread and edited articles, edited XML code, and ensured timely printing of issues. They later transitioned to the role of Commissioning Editor for the Epigenomics journal. In this role, Storm worked on journal development and editorial policy, commissioned high-quality content, and collaborated on creating a research article reporting checklist.
Most recently, Storm is employed as a Sales Development Representative at BrightEdge, starting in 2022.
Storm Johnson completed a BSc in Biomedical Science from the University of Surrey between 2016 and 2020. Prior to university, Storm attended Belfairs Academy from 2014 to 2016 to complete A Levels, although the specific field of study is not provided. Additionally, Storm obtained several certifications related to Bacterial Genomes from the Wellcome Genome Campus Advanced Courses and Scientific Conferences in November 2020.
