Jose Sosa Rueda has a diverse work experience spanning over ten years. Their most recent position is as a Senior Project Manager (Consultant) at Bright Power, Inc. where they focus on project management and sustainability consulting for multifamily and affordable housing projects in NYC. Jose specializes in the Passive House Standard, Entreprise Green Communities (EGC), and Energy Star Multifamily New Construction (ESMFNC).

Prior to this, Jose served as the Treasurer and Board Member of New York Passive House, where they played a key role in promoting sustainable and energy-efficient construction. Jose also worked as a Senior Project Manager (Consultant) at Eco Windows & Facades, where they gained experience in developing high-performance window business and understanding building science aspects of windows and doors.

Jose is also the Founder of the Panama PassivHaus Chapter at the Latin American Passivhaus Institute (ILAPH). In this role, they actively promote the development and education of professionals in architecture, construction, and building science to achieve sustainable and energy-efficient construction through the implementation of the PassivHaus standard and bio-climatic architecture.

Earlier in their career, Jose worked as an Architectural Designer at BarlisWedlick Architects, where they focused on high-performance construction, Passive House standard, and energy-efficient buildings. Jose also served as a Project Manager at Eco Supply, managing all stages of high-performance window business development.

In addition, Jose has experience in innovative research and development projects. As the BIS Team Leader at The Zahn Innovation Center, they co-founded a team working on a customizable screen to improve indoor environmental quality and health in hot and dry climates without the use of electricity or active systems. Jose also worked as a Project Architect at Fletcher Estudio and as an Assistant Project Manager at Constructora Bahia.

Before entering the architecture field, Jose worked as a Designer at Solintex, gaining valuable experience in design. Throughout their career, Jose has demonstrated a strong commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency in construction and design.

Jose Sosa Rueda, CPHC, has a solid education history in architecture and sustainability. Jose obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Structural Architecture from the Universidad Catolica Santa Maria la Antigua, where they studied Architectural Design from 2009 to 2013. Following this, they pursued a Master's Degree in Sustainability in the Urban Environment at The City College of New York from 2014 to 2015, focusing on Architecture, Science, and Engineering.

In addition to their formal education, Jose has also obtained several certifications to enhance their professional skills. In 2017, they completed the Certified Passive House Designer Course offered by the New York Passive House (NYPH). Subsequently, in 2018, they became a Passive House Designer certified by the Passive House Institute. These certifications showcase their expertise in energy-efficient and sustainable building design.

Furthermore, Jose has pursued additional training to broaden their knowledge and creativity in architecture. In 2019, they completed the Thermal Bridge Modeling Training provided by The American Institute of Architects (AIA). Jose also participated in The Architecture Imagination program at Harvard University Graduate School of Design in the same year.
