José Francisco Mafla serves as the Vicepresidente de Aduanas y Comercio Exterior at ICDT Instituto Colombiano de Derecho Tributario since July 2023. With extensive experience at Brigard Urrutia as a Partner since 2015, expertise includes Customs, International, and Corporate Commercial/M&A. Additionally, José Mafla has held roles as an Arbitrator at Centro de Árbitraje y Conciliación de la Cámara de Comercio de Bogotá since December 2013 and as Co-chair of the Latin America & Caribbean Committee with the American Bar Association from June 2020 to July 2023. José Mafla also served as President of the Investment Committee at AmCham Colombia between February 2014 and January 2019. Educational qualifications include an LL.M. from New York University School of Law and certifications in Customs law and Business Law from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and Universidad Externado de Colombia, respectively.
