Rick Sharma is a seasoned legal and compliance professional with extensive experience in the financial services sector. Currently serving as Chief Legal Advisor at Bridgewater Associates since April 2012, Rick has held multiple significant roles, including Chief Counsel for Internal Controls and Deputy Chief Compliance Officer. Prior to this, Rick was Managing Director and Chief Compliance Officer at Plural Investments, LLC, and Director of Legal and Compliance at Drake Management. Rick's career also includes a distinguished service as an Army Officer in the United States Army, where responsibilities included roles as a JAG and Civil Affairs Officer, achieving the rank of Major. Additionally, Rick has experience as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice and as an Associate at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP. Rick holds a JD from Fordham University School of Law and a BA from The Johns Hopkins University in Economics and Political Science.
