Maurita Coley Flippin

Maurita Coley Flippin has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several industries. Maurita currently serves as the Principal of MCF Global LLC, beginning in 2021. Prior to this, they worked as an Executive Consultant at Bridge Philanthropic Consulting LLC, starting in 2022. In this role, they were responsible for senior project and business development consulting, with a focus on African American philanthropic fundraising.

From 2018 to 2021, Maurita held various positions at Multicultural Media, Telecom, and Internet Council (MMTC). Maurita served as President and CEO, managing the organization's day-to-day operations and advising the board on strategic planning and fundraising. Earlier in their career at MMTC, they held the positions of Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, Acting Chief Executive Officer, and CEO.

Maurita also contributed to the external diversity and inclusion efforts of T-Mobile and Charter Communications, serving as a member of their respective councils. Additionally, they served as the Executive Director and ex officio board member at Capital Area Asset Builders (CAAB) from 2010-2011, leading the organization's asset-building and financial literacy programs.

Before entering the nonprofit sector, Maurita was a Partner/Attorney at Davis Wright Tremaine LLP/Cole Raywid and Braverman, where they specialized in media, entertainment, and communications law. Maurita represented major cable television operators and programmers, as well as minority content providers. Maurita worked at the firm from 1983 until 2009.

Maurita's earlier experience includes executive roles at Black Entertainment Television (BET), where they served as the Executive Vice President and Senior Vice President of the network. During their time at BET, they oversaw network operations, programming, financial management, and business affairs.

Maurita began their career as an Associate Attorney at Clark Klein & Beaumont and worked as an Editorial Assistant/Staff Writer at The Detroit News.

Throughout their career, Maurita has demonstrated expertise and leadership in the fields of philanthropy, media, telecommunications, and law.

Maurita Coley Flippin attended Cass Technical High School from 1970 to 1973, where they studied Business Administration and Management. Maurita then pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University from 1973 to 1977. After completing their undergraduate studies, they enrolled at Georgetown University Law Center from 1978 to 1981 to earn a Juris Doctor degree in Law.

In terms of additional certifications, Maurita obtained their State of Michigan Bar License from the State Bar of Michigan in February 1982. Maurita also acquired their District of Columbia Bar License from the Bar Association of the District of Columbia in February 1989.
