Marc Bernath, PE, CEM, PMP, serves as the Director of Public Works for Brevard County Government since July 2020, overseeing a diverse organization of 323 employees responsible for various public works functions across a 72-mile area serving over 600,000 residents. With extensive experience in the US Navy, Bernath held several significant positions, including Navy Civil Engineer Corps Officer, Public Works Director for the Naval Facilities Engineering Command, and Capital Investment Program Director for Commander, Navy Installations Command. Bernath's educational background includes a Master of Science in Civil Engineering-Construction Management from Virginia Tech and a Master of Business Administration from Salve Regina University, complemented by a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Resource and Forest Engineering from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry.
