Alex Merchant serves as the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Culture Manager at the Brennan Center for Justice since February 2022, focusing on designing management trainings and inclusive leadership programs while developing organizational values and a DEI mission. Prior experience at New York University includes roles as Manager of People Experience & Training, where over 400 learners engaged in leadership development exercises, and as Talent Development Manager, overseeing a residential program and curating educational multimedia art exhibitions. Additional experience spans positions at the University of Tennessee, Arizona State University, and Truman State University, emphasizing international learner engagement, community development, and effective communication. Alex holds multiple degrees and certifications in diversity, equity, inclusion, human resources management, and fine arts from respected institutions.
